Lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 combinative application: Practices and perceived benefits

This paper investigates the industry practices regarding combinative use of Industry 4.0 and lean tools in manufacturing sector. Following review literature, a questionnaire survey was distributed among professionals organizations which have already adopted technology manufacturing, with aim to highlight popular combinations as seen practice capture perceived level their contribution operational performance. The results show that Real time data, IoT for data exchange, big analytics, Cyber –Physical Systems (CPS), predictive algorithms robots are most I4.0 applications used support attributes like continuous flow, Kanban, standardised work, TPM improvement. It also emerges although beneficial impact production across respondents’ is widely accepted, not clear.
